Policenauts Jumper

Post by Artemio »

I just received today this Policenauts Jumper: (POLICENAUTS ジャンパー)

I believe it is from the batch of 100 produced for the Sega Saturn version of the game, as described here:

But I certainly do have some doubts. It is somewhat different from the pics found on flickr of another one of these. Mainly it doesn't have the Konami logo on the sleeve and the copyright is different (it doesn't say 1994-1996). Otherwise it seems they are identical. Of course it is possible they somewhat made two runs. I took extra pictures of the tag, in case we can someday compare them even though they only contain the materials and washing/ironing instructions:

Here are the pics of the other such Jacket I found on Flickr:

Big congrats on getting that. Did anyone here actually acquire that Policenauts poster from a while back?

Aw the Konami logo looks so cool too, I'd pay up for that.

TheZBo told me that:
TheZBo wrote:"Hey man. The tags on my jacket are the same as yours. I took pics but they didn't come out too well. I'll take more and put them up as soon as I get the chance. "
So it seems there were two different runs of these. Either some of the 100 are one type or the other, or there was a separate batch that was made for different purposes. it is very unlikely it is not the official one since it is identical in all other aspects but those two. Since the other one is more "complete" I am inclined to think this was the earlier model from those two (more detailed copyright on the other one and the Konami logo).

I'll let you guys know if I get any more info.

It don't look THAT expensive to make one yourself. I mean, compared to what the original one must have cost. Best part, you can costumize your own jumper if you want, so you can have your name up on the jumper :B

Of course it wouldn't. I guess it is all just about silly collector's pride on the item itself rather than making yourself one, which would be quite easy and I've done in the past with t-shirts and the like.

Exactly. You don't wanna mess up your original policenaut jumper by going with it to a Animecon or Whatevercon is happening in town. Remember, Ketchup is not blood, but if it is on your jumper, you better start screaming like hell.

They did (for each version), but only for promotional purposes, I believe. Kojima has one hanging in his office. I've never seen them on an auction site, so good luck finding any. Then again, the Snatcher poster eventually surfaced, so you never know.
