I also watched a video on YouTube from the Saturn version that showed the space shuttle approaching Earth. That shot was seen after the end credits. Did any of the other versions of the game feature something after the end credits?
They all do.

Yoji was a debugger for the PC version. Then he moved up to art director and also worked on the game's digital effects.

The mecha design was done by Hajime Katoki (Gundam, Super Robot Wars, Virtual On).

Sorry to go off-topic again, but:
Spoiler:
I just got to the end of ACT 2 in the PC98 version, and I'm having trouble figuring out which of the 9 wires I'm supposed to cut, upon opening up the plate in that version. Someone please help.

Yeap, that's the "Goddard", "Extravehicular Mobility Police Suit", a.k.a., EMPS.

Slowbeef, our biffle, is moving the project along very fast (not to mention that Artemio just about has the cutscene hacking done). We're very close, my son.

Aw. Thanks for teaching me new slang at any rate.

Sorry I've been keeping shit on the DL, but I'm deferring to the Junker HQ guys as far as updates since... I really don't have much to give you! It's all technical-type stuff, so there's no cool screenshots or anything.

Don't feel like giving the Mato-style story with all the coding jargon none of us understand?

Well, here is another update status. I have advanced a bit more than this but I have nothing else to show for the time being.

As you might know I have been working on the graphic overlays during videos. A week and a half ago, I figured a way to "shut down" layers during the playback as you already know. We know where the audio, video, subtitles and overlays are stored and I am working on figuring out the internal structure of the graphical overlays. But I figured I could share with you how the game looks when we shut down pieces of it.

Here is the "Old LA" layer during the intro, clean video and just the overlay:
OLDLA-text.GIF
OLDLA-vid.gif
And just for kicks, here is one other early experiment. I placed the HOME overlay text everywhere. This is how it looked:
Home3.gif
Right now I am struggling with the internal format of these as I said above, it is like translating something you don't know the language for so progress is not fast and it sometimes gets tiring when you hit brick walls with suppositions, but I still have some things to try and think I have figured out some internal structures. Will let you guys know if I find something.
From the mathematical perspective, consciousness might be regarded as a second derivative of sensation.

Yes, though it will have to be able to run games on CD-R (this can be done with a mod chip or disc-swapping tool).

One of our testers is going to be doing this on for real hardware, just so you know.

I'd be wrong on this one, but in a NTSC-US PSX model the game may not work since the BIOS in the ntsc us model is different from the japanese one.

I, as well. This week alone, some amazing patches are finding their way to our computers. Mato has assured us that, in just a few days, the Mother 3 patch will be released to the public. In addition, Gemini retracted his earlier frustrations and released the Persona 2 Patch on time. So, just the last few days have given us plenty to be happy about.

EDIT: The Mother 3 Patch is out. Links: Mother 3 and Persona 2: Innocent Sin.

I've only played a few minutes of both games, but, I have to say, it's all truly amazing work.

I found out something crazy two days ago: It actually turns out by very extreme coincidence I'm Internet-friendly with one of the testers/English Q/A guys on the Persona 2 translation. He's also an SA goon and I've done Let's Play projects here and there with him (his name is Schildkrote.)

Small freakin' world.

Just wanted to say that I am really looking forward to the release of this and appreciate your hard work. After seeing pictures of Snatcher in old issues of EGM and Gamefan long ago and wanting to play it, I finally got to about 4 months ago and it blew me away. It's now one of my favorite games ever, and now I cannot wait to play through Policenauts in English. Keep up the good work!
