Outer Heaven question

Post by Johnny Undaunted »

Just wondering, does anyone has the European version of Snatcher for the Mega-CD? Does that version have Bill and Lance (the Contra guys) as part the clientele? Or does it replace them with the Probotector robots? I'm curious since all the Contra games released in Europe until that point were localized as Probotector games and it would seem odd they would kept Bill and Lance there.

I have it, and they're both in there. I don't think there's any difference between the US and PAL versions of the game.

All the text between the euro and US release is identical. The only differences, in byte level, I am aware of are in the boot sector:

Of course also the ending PCM track it has Metal Gear saying he is Mega CD instead of Sega CD.

Odd they would record two different lines of dialogue for that, but left the Contra guys there.

On a related note what does Metal Gear calls itself at the end of the PlayStation and Saturn versions? I know he goes by Metal Gear Duo in the PC-Engine version.
