New Snatcher vids on YouTube...

Post by LiquidPolicenaut »

It's been awhile since I've been here but I have returned. I'm LiquidSnake and I run the Policenauts Paradise and Snatcher Shrine. I havent updated in a long time, but I felt the Snatcher/policenauts bug again and decided to upload some Snatcher vids onto Youtube. I avoided the beginning cinemas since they were already posted, so I posted more gameplay videos. It gives people a chance to see what the Staurn/PSX versions looked like and played like. You also get to see how even the Saturn and PSX versions differed in other ways (like the different coloring schemes in Harry's engineering room). Hope you guys enjoy and keep up the great work on the Policenauts translation!

I saw those videos, and I have to say that I agree with what the majority of Snatcher fans say when they said that they ruined the music in the PSX/Saturn versions. IMO, the music in those versions pale in comparison to the music heard in the first four versions of the game (including the PC-88 version, which is my all time favorite version of the Snatcher soundtrack by far).

Your website is fantastic (The Policenauts/Snatcher one)! And thanks for the videos of the Playstation, since I've never seen any actual video footage of that version, I have the Saturn version, though (which is slightly better, although the horrific music from the PSX version is carried across, unfortunately.

Thanks for the compliments! When I was searching the web, I noticed there werent many videos on the import versions of Snatcher (PSX & Saturn) so I felt like I wanted people to see what all the fuss (and bitchin) was about :)

I've always had "version differences" pics on my site, but I figured I would post two right here for a quick side-by-side comparison shot. Check 'em out!

I still think the Madonna poster in the Sega CD version is a ton better than the Marilyn one, but you can see, at least in this shot, how close the Sega CD and PC-E versions are (seems like Harrys right side has a bit better shadowingin the Sega CD version though) and even the PSX version kept the blue steel. The Saturn just HAD to be special and make it cold gray in color.....

Hello man, great to see you around. Thanks a lot for sharing these videos, they are something that will allow tons of people see the differences for themselves rather than reading about them. The net has changed a lot, hasn't it?

I am glad the bug has biiten you again =)

Thanks for the welcomes and compliments! After uploading my video, I am planning to upload more Policenauts footage videos and another Snatcher differences video. I finally got to try Policenauts on the PC98 and recorded the beginning (although it has choppy sound, since its the emulator) so I might upload it to Youtube also. Last but not least, I am FINALLY redoing my entire site! Adding a lot of new info. and redoing a lot of the old stuff.

Ooh, I look forward to that. I just hope that I'll get to hear the original opening theme "Old L.A. 2040" in it's entirety.
