hi there, i'm currently in the process of writing a big kind of narrative critique of the mgs trilogy, and came across this on raiden's wikipedia entry:
"His name also pertains to the Jack in a deck of playing cards, with Fortune being the Queen, Solidus Snake being the King, and SEAL Team 10 being the expendable "spot" cards (Solid Snake infiltrates the Big Shell posing as a SEAL Team 10 member, thus being the "ace in the hole" himself)."
i'm wanting to quote this in the essay, but I could really do with a source. I don't suppose anyone here might know where it comes from, or could help me with finding out a suitable source to cite?

cheers.

I'm sure this all came from a Kojima interview, but I'm not sure which one. I think it might be the European "Making of MGS2" documentary, but I'm not sure. It brought up a few additional points-
Raiden and Rose's names are also references to Titanic (so is the Tanker sinking at the start of the game)
Raiden is King Kong and Snake is Godzilla. I can't quite remember the full explination for this, but it has something to do with the idea that Snake was a scientific experiment. I'll have to watch the documentary again, though.

It's from the first press of the European version of Sons Of Liberty. I think it was downloadable on a fansite at one point. I'm not sure which one, or if it's still there, though.

are you 100% sure of that? what made you change your mind?

citing the wrong source is something i'd really prefer to avoid :)

Nope, that's not in it.
I first read the "cards-characters analysis" here.
