How did Liquid survive the Hind crash?

Though he survives just about any kind of damage rendered up his body, I was wondering recently just how the hell Liquid survived the Hind crash?
0x676b078: Colonel, listen to me. I found a parachute near the wreckage of the Hind.
0x677816c: A parachute? You don't think that Liquid survived....?
0x67781b4: Impossible. As soon as he jumped out of the pilot's seat, he'd be sliced up faster than an onion on an infomercial.
0x6778238: ...So what's that parachute doing there then?
0x6778278: I have no idea.
0x6778298: A trap?
0x67782b0: Either that or a message...to me.
0x67782e4: ...Meaning I'm not dead , I suppose...
0x6778320: Maybe...but I think it's more like I'll string you up! .
0x677836c: ..........
0x6778388: Well, in any case, don't let your guard down.
0x67783c8: I won't.
heh, gotta love how that awkward silence was put after the string you up line, but not the onion one. Anyhow, maybe the mechanics of that ejection seat made it shoot forward instead of into the propeller.

You see, when the Hind crashed Liquid was ejected and fell through a plot hole...

I really don't know. Maybe Osiris or somebody will.

A handful of helicopters have ejection systems - some being to jettison the blades, so if you're going to eject, you blow the blades before doing so, and some have ejection systems that propel the occupants sideways. I'm guessing one of these is what happened with Liquid. I know the Kamov (which is Russian like the Hind) can do the former. Only problem is you can damage nearby helicopters if you do this, so it isn't very common.

But you'd think Snake and Campbell would know this, wouldn't you?

In the comic, he uses a ejector seat. The end of that series is so rushed, though.

What's this from? I don't recognize the dialogue.

It is from a codec call in MGS when you call the Colonel while watching the parachute.

I'll have to revisit that scene and check. Any help as to where and how I should look on the roof?

Also, remember I'm dealing with The Twin Snakes here. Did they retain that from the original?

I wonln't know about Twin Snakes.. I could never play too much of it. But it is at the field where you fight SNiper Wolf if I recall correctly, search the trees.

Yeah, it should be in the lower left hand corner. Just press your back against the wall and you should see the parachute. Then use your codec, by pressing select, unless you have TTS, then press Start+A+L trigger+R trigger to open the codec menu.

Why do you need to hold the triggers? Those bring up your inventories.

Methinks it is a little joke at the expense of we Gamecube owners.

Sorry, the combination suggested was a little too realistic for me to think of as a joke.

Hey, I own it with much disdain, as well (TTS). REmake alone makes the console worth keeping in addition to its multiplayer games.

Despite a limited selection of games (and some of the best being inferior sequels, ports and remakes), I think there's plenty reason to own a GameCube. Even if that's solely because you can play the best version of killer7 on it.

So my Gamecube broke last year and I ended up selling all of my games for it (including RE4, the REmake, and Alien Hominid, which got more play than anything I had) except for all the konga drum games.

Then my mom got the 'cube fixed so my little sister could have something to play.

I should work on buying all of those games again. I'd really like to have Killer7 for GC.

How the hell did you manage to break a GameCube? It must be the most durable console I've ever seen. I've seen a video of someone hit it with a sledgehammer and drop it down 2 storeys and it still loaded games up perfectly well.

I believe the joke was only refering to the port/remake, not the GC in general. I've got several GC games that I'd recommend such as: Windwaker, Mario Kart, Mario Party 4, Pikmin 1 and 2, F-Zero, Rogue Leader and several non exclusives as Ikaruga and Killer 7.

My Gamecube was messed up to begin with (it liked to crash during certain games, particularly the REmake, I think it had a faulty disc drive) and after it fell off a table at a church event (we were playing Smash Bros. and apparently people forgot they weren't using Wavebirds) it wouldn't read any game at all.

Yeah, it was at the absurd GC controls. I still have to get Killer 7 and Rogue Squadron III for the multiplayer.

I think I've got all the GameCube games I really need, now.

Metroid Prime
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
Resident Evil (REmake)
Resident Evil 4
killer7
Super Mario Sunshine
Super Mario Kart: Double Dash
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (with OoT/MQ bonus disc)
The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures
The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Wario Ware Inc. Mega Party Game$!
Sonic Mega Collection
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle
Second Sight
MetalGear Solid: The Twin Snakes
Viewtiful Joe
Soulcalibur II
Donkey Konga
Chibi-Robo

If there's any glaring omissions there, I probably have the PS2 version. I also re-bought RE4 and VJ for the PS2, for their bonuses.

Hmm.... I don't see Ikaruga in that list. Not a fan of shooters?

If it doesn't end in "ius", I'm not too interested. (And I already own Taito Legends 1+2 and Capcom Classics Collection)
