I will most likely have and extra Policenauts in the next couple weeks, i was wondering if anyone would want my other copy? It would have a spine card, manual, both discs, and original case.

As much as I want a Sega Saturn edition, a PSOne version would work out fine. (Damn censorship.) I've got a few questions: What would the shipping cost be to Massachusetts? How will we make the deal? (A Private eBay auction?)

I'm not absolutely sure what shipping would be but I don't think it would be more than $5 for anywher in the continental U.S. Also I would prefer PayPal. As far as how much I want for it, feel free to make an offer and I'll see what i think. Thanks. :)

Uh, sorry, shoulda looked at this thread before posting mine!

Would you be willing to ship to Melbourne, Australia? And how much would you want for it in $US? I don't know what's a good price, what's a rip-off and what's overpriced with this game, it being rare and all.

Thanks for your time, Dave.

If it could be played in english, there'd be no need to attempt to translate it at all.

Yeah, the back cover is in English, but that's about it (apart from the same text showing up in a little intro in the game).

As much as I love Konami and a selection of their games, it's very cheap of them to not even have the decency to have English subtitles.

Anyway Dave,

How much would you want for the game? I don't want to make an offer because I don't want to price myself out or offer you too little...

I'll pretend I never read that...

I didn't mean to offend...

But you gotta admit, they could've had an English subtitle option before the main menu at least. But I suppose it doesn't matter anymore now that you're translating it, though. Can't wait for it!

And why English? It is a Japanese reelase, for the Japanese market. The English it has is for Marketing reasons in the Japanese market (in the box). I wasn't offended at all, I simply commented that because it has no sense to complain about something like that... I could complain about the games not being in Spanish.. or Japanese for that matter, when they release them at the states.

Okayy... I'm wondering about how this thread went from Dave trying to sell an extra copy of Policenauts got into why the game wasn't localized and why they didn't put English subtitles in it and useless complaints and shit...

Man, I'm lost. :???: :???: :???:

EDIT: Oh.. that's how.

I'm still trying to sell my import Saturn. I guess I should have saved my copy of Policenauts, so that maybe someone would feel the need to buy it just to play the game. But I don't even care what I get for it now. I'll take anything just as long as it covers shipping costs.

As Snatcher touched upon, not only would subtitling the game involve a lot of money (to translate the entire script), it wouldn't make sense to do for just the Japanese market, as there's no point for them to include English subtitles if there are no English voices in the game. The same goes for the title screen - it's a Japanese game intended for Japanese. I'm not trying to sound mean, but just give you the straight answers. (Besides, the game already has more English in it than most other Japanese games from the time!)

I don't want to sound mean either, but that's like saying there's no point in giving foreign movies subtitles because there's no English speaking/voice dubbing in the flick...

The difference is there is much less dialogue to subtitle for a movie than there is dialogue and text to translate for a game as long as Policenauts.

Well, think about this..

If they HAD English subtitles, they would've made more cash, had more fans, and Kojima wouldn't have this whole fear of "going back" to Policenauts. Yeah, it MIGHT fail, but it's a Kojima game... who the hell can resist a Kojima game unless that person's a mindless jock who listens to rap for the sake of popularity?

...And plays video games only with pictures of sport on them, or rappers...

Speaking of which, mainstream music is gay. Especially 50 Cent.

He had an album, "Get Rich or Die Trying", made a movie called "Get Rich or Die Trying", then they released the soundtrack of the movie "Get Rich or Die Trying", called "Get Rich or Die Trying".

Getting back to the point, Kojima would've had more fans, more cash and yet another smash-hit on his hands, like the Metal Gear series.
