The long load times are due to a rushed port from the PC88 to the MSX.

He is Jonathan Ingram, from Policenauts.

That's one of his talking heads (like in Snatcher) in the PC98 version.
It's funny you should ask, though - a character from Snatcher who has a cameo in Policenauts thinks Jonathan is Gillian, too.

Haha, probably a little joke they threw in because they look alike with different color hair.
Im surprised this many people still care about Snatcher.
I came across it like 2 months ago because I LOVE MGS. Now, I also LOVE SNATCHER.
I beat the sega cd version, good cinematics. Do any others have better cinematics than that? Not that cheesy 3-d stuff though. I got SD Snatcher, im playing that now, just about to reach Gibson, I noticed the translator didn't do too good. Well actually he did good, but if he read it over once it would be common sense to spell things differently, like for instance, Jan Jack, its french it should still be Jean. And the funniest of them all in the inventory. Newtrilizer lmao.
I wish policenaughts were in english, that would be so awesome.

Yes, the translation has its limitations. I believe they are because they were probably not native speakers, but the main problem was technical. They didn't have that much extra space in the rom to fit the actual text without using compression techniques. So I can say they did good with what they had.
Ahh BTW, it is spelled Policenauts =P, and that woul dbe the answer to yoru other question.

I agree with what Snatcher said. I never criticize fan translations because these people took many hours out of their lives to do what they did for no profit.
JunkerHQ is currently working on a Policenauts translation, by the way.

I still thinks it's really good I know it must be hard work, I was just sayin haha.
And are you guys gonna do the VA's too?

NOOO! Subtitles, man! Subtitles!!! It's a very, VERY low chance that the people who do the voiceovers will be as gifted a cast as, say, the ones who did SCD Snatcher.

Thought so, that's cool though.
Is the game mainly text like snatchers? Or since it's a ps1 game is it full VA so either way you have to read, im just wondering for reference.

It's mainly text like Snatcher but with a more advanced game system. Instead of command options at the bottom of the screen, you click on people and items like many traditional graphic adventures. The shooting scenes are also free aiming, like traditional gun games, instead of with a 3 x 3 grid.
There is voice, about 6-7 hours of it, so there's more than in Snatcher. There are subtitles with the voices, unlike Snatcher.
And it isn't just for PS1. There was a version released for Japanese PCs in 1994, a 3DO version in 1995, and PS1 and Saturn versions released in 1996.
With our translation, the first version will be a subtitled version, but we hope to do a dubbed version at some point afterwards. We haven't gotten very far with it at this point, though. PS1 games aren't as easy to get into as, say, SNES games.
