HELP RE-RELEASE SNATCHER AND POLICENAUTS... OR TRY TO.

Hey there.

I've set up a petition that I'm going to send to Konami, and the aim of it is to help re-release Snatcher and Policenauts on PS2 in Australia and America....

So if you're an Australian or American Snatcher/Policenatus fan and would like the game re-released, put your opinion on the petition. One man's opinion's not gonna cut it. I need 2000+ signatures... So send the petition around, okay? Don't have to, just a suggestion... but it'd be nice. :) Help us get Snatcher and Policenauts back for one last time!

Here's the link:

Hope you end up signing![/img]

Thanks for listening to all those points I made, then.

I'd sign it, I don't think that this will work but anyway I'd sign it IF....

...you did not limit it to USA and Australia, this is lame and stupid, a worldwide re-release would be cool, but you seen to want it only for yourself and ask for everyone's help.

I don't know if this will break any rule but, you're a selfidh idiot, and that's the reason why I'm not signing it, and neither will I even if you change it, learn japanese if you want it so much, and learn to be a little less selfish.

Hm... guess you're right...

How would you put it then? I have no idea. Please enlighten me so it sounds not-so selfish... because it didn't mean to sound like that. The first petition I had to close because it sounded too informal... And if this one sounds too selfish.... well, how would you put it then?

I'd just like to take this oppurtunity to put in a plug for my own Policenauts petition...I've tried to keep it neutral and I'm requesting it to be released in all English-speaking territories. Give it a look, J05.

That's awesome. I wish I'd worded MY petition like that. That's apparently why nobody's signing mine! :( Oh well... I signed it, and I hope that Konami doesn't blow your petition off like most people in the past.

While I'm here, I'm attempting one last petition.... You guys are probably going to disregard this one too, but I figure it's worth one last shot.... Credit to 8bitsonic for wording ideas.... thanks.

Uh...just looked at your petition for the first time. I might be wrong on this, but I don't think it's proper protocol to sign your own petition. That shows a lack of confindence and balls.

I signed my own petition? Crap, I don't remember doing that. I'll change it...

Ah, you've looked at the wrong one. Here's the new one.

Whatever, man...the petition is largely uncalled for, in my opinion...Konami has already released Snatcher 6 freakin' times, they've given it a worldwide release already. And while we'd all love to see it on modern consoles (though it's better suited for today's handhelds...the DS would be perfect for it) it's not going to happen. There's more hope for Policenauts...if MGS doesn't go the way of The Simpsons (e.g. we all get damn sick of a series that keeps continuing) Kojima might get off his ass and push for a worldwide release of what appears to be his favorite project (since he himself directed every version of it).

But it's always worth a try. I signed it anyway.

Hmm.... I guess your right. Policenauts does seem to have more hope.... And the fact that he's tired out Snatcher..... Should I just make a petition for a Policenauts translation? Or just boycott the whole damn thing?... Boycotting looks good at the moment... But I'm not one to give up... Decisions, decisions...

How about you forget the whole thing? I already have an active, well-written petition that's low on signatures. It's the only active one up, as far as I know. You signed it, so just leave it at that.

Waste your time another way. May I reccomend a nice video game, like Shenmue 2?

Okay, yours is well written, I guess, so let's just go with yours. I'll close mine... Nobody listens to a 14 year old anyway :x :x :x *swearing and incoherent ranting*.... You know what, I think I'll leave it open anyway... You never know... How many signatures are you aiming for again?

And thanks for the recommendation... Not much of a Shenmue fan though... Come to think of it, Doom 3 looks veeery nice...

I don't think I want to sign that - according to your email address you are mentally ill, and probably in no condition to be leading a petition of any kind.

I signed your petition. To be honest I don't think it'll make much difference since we had hundreds of people post at the Konami boards back in 2000 and the game stil didn't come out, because Kojima didn't want to do it.

We did make them change their message board though! You have to register to post now.

No no no...since when did anyone have to pay to sign a petition? Whatever gave you that idea?

I remember somewhere that if you sign the petition it would cost but i´m not sure where

I still think Policenauts would sell well overseas if marketed right. It holds up great graphically (pretty amazing considering the PS version's almost 10 years old), but I guarantee you people would be sucked right in by the plot and its convincing world alone. Then word of mouth might spread like it did for Symphony of the Night... In 1996 Kojima had little name for himself outside Japan, but now he's one of videogames' celebrities.

The only problem is he doesn't want to go back to it, but come on, with MG and MG2 being in Subsistence, the only one of his major games not released here is Policenauts now. He supervised the conversion of MG and MG2 to mobile phones, I don't think Policenauts would be much more time-consuming for him.

I'm betting he doesn't know how many people really want to play it and would buy it, and is afraid of it failing like Snatcher. But that was for the Sega CD, and before he made a name for himself in the West. He can be a stubborn guy sometimes, but it's not like it would be a big money project (compared to a new game from scratch), it would just be a localization; the game's more or less done.

I agree with you. Truthfully, I don't think it's best suited for consoles these days. It would be awesome if they put it on the Nintendo DS, since it's a point and click interface and all. A home computer version might do well also, and may even bring the adventure game genre back into the mainstream.

If they are going to re-release Snatcher and Policenauts they probaly going to release it on PSP like Capcom is doing with Mega Man Legends 1 and 2 and Breath Of Fire
