No problem. My secret? Cooking spray.
After VERY slowly and patiently taking off what you can, spray the residue left with cooking spray. The oil seems to "loosen" the glue and you can rub it right off. Well, if does take some effort and you may need to respray a couple times, but it's never failed for me. I can even remove stickers with security strips embedded in them (where the strips stay behind after the sticker is removed).
Make sure to rub it with your thumb, don't scrap with your fingernail, as you'll just scratch the shrink wrap.
Just thought I'd share that with you. You can save quite a bit of money buying sealed games with ugly price stickers on it and just removing them yourself. If the sticker has been on there a LONG time I wouldn't bother removing it as the shrink wrap is likely now a bit warped and you'll know something was there.
Next time I remove one I'll take a video and post it if people are interested.

I find a hairdryer also works for stickers (melts the glue). Dunno if you'd want to use this method on delicate collectibles, though.

What about stickers that leave marks on unsealed items? e.g. my MGS:PO has a mark where the sticker was taken off by Zavvi (a U.K. highstreet store) only to be replaced by another sticker. They were going really cheap earlier in the year and all 50 odd of the copies they had were like it, I picked the best one I could but could avoid the markings.
Any ideas on how to get that off? I'd hate to ruin my case.
Also, Mark, do you think the hairdryer treatment would work on glued paper? I have the A-Team DVD box set. If you've not seen it, it's a wooden box with DVD's inside basically. On the underside of the lid, it has a piece of glossy paper which is glued to the wood. Ideally it needs to come off and remounted on a piece of card because it's only stuck in the corners at the moment. It looks awful, hence why I want to unglue it. Any advice? (sorry for going off the MGS and gaming topic!).

As for the glued paper, the hairdryer would probably warp the paper and make it look not so nice anymore. I think you'd be better off with some other method.

Right yeah that makes sense, it's got a slight gloss to it too so it's probably not a good idea! Oh well, if anyone has any ideas let me know! Thanks for getting back to me mate.

Yeah cooking oil would stain an unsealed item....that's a tough one...

Yeah that's what I feared!
I've heard somewhere that steaming stickers off could maybe work, I'm guessing you'd do this by using the steam from a kettle maybe?

Show us a pic of what you're trying to get off, that may help with the advice.

DONT DO IT!!!
if you steam it, moisture will go into the seal and possibly ruin the item over long period of time (esp when steam cools down, it becomes water vapours)

It's ok mate, I was replying to Violent Snake asking for pictures. I won't do anything drastic don't worry!
Thanks for the concern though!
