Games Tm a uk magazine who also covered the Policenauts translation about 8 months have placed a full page picture of Snatcher in the magazine with a paragraph about the game, for those who arent able to get Games tm they do this every issue and each issue has about 6 games in it which deserve a mention for just being great games. The Screenshot take is from when you enter outer heaven and there is several Konami characters in the room (sega cd version) the paragraph reads.
HIDEO KOJIMA is well known for indulging the odd intertextual reference throughout the Metal Gear series and his other less well-known games, have also been peppered with such references. Take his cyber-punk adventure Snatcher, for example. Released on MSX in 1988, it ignored all trademark rights by filling the in-game nightclub, Outer Heaven, with creatures clearly taken from popular sci-fi films like Alien, Guyver, and Planet Of The Apes. Yet by the time the game made it to the West, on Mega CD Konami#s lawyers had clearly stepped in and insisted the characters be removed. Never one to be dismayed, Kojima replaced the characters with mascots from old Konami games like Contra, Castlevania and Rocket Knight Adventure. And seing Bill Rizer sipping a dry Martini somehow managed to look even cooler.
