Found them!

Hello all!

I've just returned from a trip to Japan, and once again, amongst my military-style schedule of visiting sights of historial and cultural interest and tradition, as always I fitted in a little retro gaming action. I've accumilated quite a nice Snatcher (and to a lesser extent, Policenauts) collection over the past 3 trips to Japan, with games, soundtracks and the like... but this time I managed to pick up the all elusive books, The Official PCE Guide Book, Snatcher no Subete, oh and the PCE complete Sound Clip... all in the same store.

I was wondering if anyone else has found treasure-troves and where they had been?

I saw all sorts of Snatcher stuff when I was in Osaka. Den Den Town is pretty much just Akihabara, but with much fewer tourists/eBay sellers, so there's no real competition when it comes to buying rare gaming stuff. I couldn't buy much of it, unfortunately (when push comes to shove, I'm happy with what Snatcher stuff I already have), but I got quite a bit of other Kojima stuff. MGS3: Premium Pack with free TGS promo items for 5,000 yen was particularly lovely. :)

Yeah. I haven't been there, but apparently it's built on a small island, slightly off-coast.

Ahh sweet memories of Nipponbashi's Den Den Town. Yeah, I picked up the SCC collection there a few years back, complete with the sealed Junker key-chain. After getting the keychain backing-card signed by Kojima himself, that has to be my favourite piece in my collection. I saw the Policenauts 3DO box with mousemat and mouse, but didn't pick it up... anyone know if it's worth any?

Among the other rarer items I saw, I also found the policenauts guidebook, another SCC collection, and the original print of the Snatcher Drama CD - I have the reprint, and wasn't prepared to pay around £70 for another version with minimal differences - namely the spine card.

Buying online is easy and often expensive, but hunting is fun.
