How many games in each Kojima series do you have?

Something that's been a bit of a curiosity of mine is just what games Kojima fans are willing to buy, just because of the director. I've bought all sorts of games, just because of Hideo Kojima's involvement in the development, and I've only really enjoyed around half of them.

I'm also interested to see what series' his fans like to buy. Pretty much any member of this forum would buy anything with the word "Snatcher" written on it, but it seems that most of us would ignore another Boktai game, completely.

Before you make your lists, here's a couple of rules-

1- If you have multiple copies of one game, that counts as several different entries into the same series (even if they are the exact same version)
2- The Document of MGS2 counts as a separate game from MGS2: Substance, despite the fact that they were packaged together in Europe.
3- Feel free to include any games that had any link to Kojima at all. This can include games that he did not direct or produce, like Penguin Adventure and Tokimeki Memorial, or games with strong references to his work, like Konami Krazy Racers or Neo Kobe 2045 Speed King. If you bought them., not knowing of Kojima's involvement, don't bother listing them.
4- Snake's Revenge can be included as a MetalGear game, if you bought it because of its ties to the main series.
5- Only list official products. You can't include backed-up copies or anything of that sort
6- Don't list DVDs, CDs or other merchandise. Items like the Policenauts Pilot Disc or The Document of MGS2 count as games, as they are designed to played on a specific console.
7- Demo discs don't count as separate games.
8- Lunar Knights counts as a boktai game.

Okay, here's my list-

MetalGear- 26 games
Snatcher- 2 games
Policenauts- 5 games
Zone Of the Enders- 2 games
boktai- 2 games
Kabutore- 1 game
Penguin Adventure- 1 game
Other games I've bought because of Kojima's involvement- 3 games

It's going to be a very short list (there are some games I really need to buy someday), so it probably won't help you.

Metal Gear - 3 games (MGS2 SOL, MGS3 SE, MGS3 Sub)
Zone of the Enders - 1 game (ZOE2)

You count different versions of Policenauts (and/or Snatcher/MGS/whatever) as different games? In that case...

Snatcher - two games (PC-E, SCD)
Policenauts - four games (PC-98, 3DO, PSX, SAT)
Metal Gear - seven games (MGS1 PSX, MGS1 PC, MGS1: I PSX, MGS2 + Document PS2, MGS2: S PC, MGS3: S)

I'd never buy anything solely based on Kojima's involvement though. I'm a fan of certain games he's made - not of him - which is why I won't bother with ZOE, Boktai or any more MG games. If he made another sci-fi game with adventure elements I'd probably buy it without second thought though, but that will most likely not happen due to the current industry climate which, ironically, MGS helped create.

Well, I have more than one version of a lot of games, and I'd imagine that many who bought the MGS Premium Packs or Substance-esque releases are in the same boat. I don't count them as separate games, but I think they show how interested we are in the particular games.

Metal Gear: MG, MG2 (both MSX and Subsistence) , MGS (both PSX and NGC/TTS), MGS2, MGS3 (both original and Subsistence), MPO.

Snatcher: Sega-CD.

That's the extent of my collection, so far.

I'm only really interested in listing separate purchases. In this sense, Subsistence or even the 20th Anniversary Collection would only count as one game, each.

2, as it means you own two physically seperate games, even if they are the same game.

Owned by me, physically (some, such as Snake's Revenge, I downloaded):

Metal Gear - 9

MG1, MG2; MSX,
MGS1 PAL, MGS1 Integral; NTSC-J; PS1,
MGS2: Substance PAL; Xbox,
MGS2: SOL NTSC-J, MGS3: Subsistence UK-PAL, MGS3: Snake Eater NTSC-J; PS2
MG: Ghost Babel PAL; Game Boy Colour

Policenauts - 4

Pilot Disc NTSC; 3DO
Policenauts NTSC; 3DO, PSX, Saturn

Snatcher - 4

Pilot Disc NTSC; PC Engine
Snatcher PAL and NTSC; PC Engine, Sega CD, Sega Saturn

Zone Of The Enders - 3

Z.O.E 1 PAL, Z.O.E 1 NTSC; PS2
Z.O.E 2 PAL; PS2

I'm honestly looking for Z.O.E 2 in Japanese, I bet the Japanese VA is much better than the cheese ball we got for Z.O.E 2 in the PAL/NTSC versions... :???:

And yes, I buy for Kojima's involvement, simply because I haven't played a game by him that I have disliked. I even had a go on Penguin Adventure via emulation and had great fun with it. I can see his strengths and weaknesses though, of course, his strengths are definitely writing, rather than producing (MPO is enough explanation, which I sold on after I got annoyed by the itty bitty sections). I am not a fanboy of his or anything, I just enjoy his work, like I enjoy James Cameron's (I see Kojima as the James Cameron of gaming). It's like when I go to see a film because a director/writer I like a lot made it, Kojima is the same for me with gaming, if you get what I mean? :)

Personally, I'd hate for someone to see me as a Kojima fanboy, as I have a lot to say against his recent work. I am, however, a big fan of many of his games, and I appreciate what he adds to them, so each game he works on interests me. I like the way he sees the industry, and what he attempts to add to it, so I always like to read about what he's working on and I often enjoy his games, so that's why I have no real concerns about buying the majority of them.

Yes, as I do. I have a lot of bad things to say about his latest, shall I call them 'efforts', too. But no director in film industry or gaming is perfect, we all know that.

I do believe he has recently given in to the temptation of money, as well, unfortunately...

Metal Gear - 11

Nothing noteworthy to mention, just your usual fare.
