You know, believe it or not, I was actually thinking about how a Famicom/NES port of Snatcher would have been like. I'm sure it's technically possible, but the reason it was probably never ported to cartridge media was its huge size (in those days). Still, aside from the huge ROM size it would need, Snatcher would still be a pleasure to play on the NES- and I'm saying that as a person who's beaten the slow-ass MSX version. Twice.

It would be really great if someone could port it to the NES...use the 8-bit version graphics and the 16-bit version interface...I can see it now...it would be great.

Wouldn't the game have been extremely censored if it was ported to Nes?

But the cartridge looks somewhat nice.

There´s that much violence in Snatcher?

I wouldn't say, that there's much violence, but those few violent scenes are pretty gory, and as far as I know, Nintendo was on a big censorship rampage, back then, so I don't think that Snatcher would've ever been released uncensored on Nes.

Hmmm, well, the american release would probably be censored if it did exist.

Who was worse for censorship; Sega or Nintendo?

Definately N, despite how great they are. The Famicom port would've probably been uncensored, but the domestic release would've been toned down some.

Nintendo. Part of Sega's strategy during the late eighties and mid-nineties was to define the games for its consoles as mature-themed in comparison to Nintendo's (and as a result they had less censorship. Compare the SNES/Genesis versions of Mortal Kombat for instance).

I think Marc's pulling our leg actually. He's more knowledgeable than most of us here, I mean, he does seem to know just about everything else about Kojima's games, and all of the subsequent versions of each game (why else would he be team leader of the Policenauts translation alongside Artemio as well as be the Site Admin?), so don't be fooled by him.

There is no one Site Admin, Snatcher is the one who set up this whole operation; he was an Admin long before Osiris was.

Hard to tell on the net. If it was in person, I would've probably understood he was just kidding, but then again, I have trouble understanding when people are joking or serious in RL too, so I don't know.

Yeah, it's understandable mate, don't worry about it, he got me confuzzled as well.

Oh yeah, I know that, I just made a grammatical error, that's all man, I know Artemio is the webmaster and whatnot.
