Tom Cruise is a fan of Hideo Kojima?

I was reading over the Japanese Wikipedia entry for Hideo Kojima, and in it it says, "Incidentally, movie star Tom Cruise is apparently a fan of Kojima's; he once said, 'If Hideo Kojima ever directs a movie, I'd love to be in it.'"

Anyone heard of this before? Perhaps we might see him in the MGS movie?

It wouldn't suprise me, he was trying to get the rights to the Silent Hill movie along time ago, before the release of Silent Hill 3. He's supposed to be a big gamer.

I would love to see Tom Cruise in the MGS movie. But they should also see, if they can get Keifer Sutherland. He (in my eyes) is the perfect Solid Snake!

Eric Bana suits it perfectly, I would like to see Tom Cruise go against his own his normal roles though; and play Liquid, he would pull it off really well I think!

not likely to happen.... but wouldnt we rather see david hayter play snake. i mean i could get over the fact he dosnt look like snake but could we get past the voice........i know it would seem akward to me to not hear hayter!

My 2 cents

Yes, but first, can he do live action? And second, would a studio really bank on a no-name as the main character?

I think it's best to consider the film as entirely separate from the game, meaning there could be such changes in store.

hard to imagine but its whats best. Maybe Cg is the way to go. Not really putting to much faith into it. Unless it is cg. I think it might come off to much like a bond flick.

:???:

I've never really understood why people refer to MGS as being like Bond; that's only really because of MGS3...

And having it in CG would suck, totally.

1-man infiltration into a heavily guarded military base? Using a variety of specially-built weapons? Seducing women you meet on the mission?
I thought the comparison was easy enough to make, even without MGS's unlockable tuxedo and the Snake Eater theme tune.

The hype and standard the movie would have to live up too is so great, in my mind anyway.

Bond never infiltrates though; he just goes around shooting everything that moves and impersonates being a criminal... :???:

Solid Snakes actor should either be Kurt Russel (unlikely) or Christian Bale. Wasn't Bale supposed to be involved in the project at one point?

I think Bale would make a great Snake, but after seeing Hugh Jackman with a cigarette in his mouth in this romantic comedy from a few years ago, I think he'd be pretty good as Snake too.

Eric Bana!

Hugh would be awesome as well though, same for Christian.

Am I the only one still surprised at the thought of Tom Cruise being a gamer, let alone a fan of Kojima's? Then again, I'm surprised at the ability to associate anything Tom Cruise does with normalcy.

Normality is subjective, perhaps we're just as wierd as Cruise is, eh?

I'm aware that everyone in this world is crazy -- besides me, of course -- but most still aren't Tom Cruise. That's something else entirely.

Eric Bana for the win. Tom Cruise might make an interesting Psycho Mantis.

Glad someone sees my liking in Bana for the role. And I loll'd at that second comment.

And hasn't Christian Bale been known to mention that he is a big fan of Kojima as well?

Snake versus the Thetans... no thank you. Keep that runt away from Kojima and anything Konami-related. He's probably only be good as Coward Duck.
