An amine probably would be better yeah - we all have our differing opinions on that and most of them have been voiced and put them aside for now as we focus on IF where was a movie, who would be in it...
It's funny that although most of the cast are Japanese - true to anime artwork, they generally look mostly western (aside from the Chinese). I think a US backed movie Directed by Kojima with mainly US actors for the key cast would fit the best. Like Deckard, in LA - the country has become so multicultural and diverse, that people dont really consider race - and LA looks more like Bangkok. Gillian would be a American, who was brought up in Japan (maybe)..before setting off to Moscow.... I think that would be the best route. Regardless....I want more cast lists for fun.

Everyone says Snatcher is like playing a great graphic novel so I think there should be a graphic novel that's a sequal to Snatcher. Here's my story:
While on there way to destroy the snatcher factory the Junker’s hovercraft crashes in unknown territory. Gillian and Metal Gear are the only survivors. Gillian steps out-side and is greeted with thick snow. Metal Gear analyzes it and it is real snow. As Gillian and Metal Gear advance they come upon 3 people. Metal conforms the presences of snow-9. Knowing they must be snatchers Gillian draws his blaster. two of the snatchers turn around. Recognizing Gillian as a JUNKER they run for him. But just as he is about to be killed the third snatcher (the only female one in the group) draws a gun and shoots the other two. She then introduces herself as Miranda and it is raveled that she is not a snatcher but a bioriod that thinks she is human. (Just like Random) She and Gillian return to the crash and meet up with Metal Gear. Metal has some bad news. Jamie has been killed by a snatcher that survived the exploding church. Soon Gillian, Miranda and Metal Gear discover a creature 10 times worse than the snatchers. They are our only hope against it. But the grip of this new evil does not prevent Gillian and Miranda from falling in love.
Well what do you think?

Your not saying a sequel, your saying an alternative that doesnt make any sense.
1. "While on there way to destroy the snatcher factory the Junker’s hovercraft crashes in unknown territory. Gillian and Metal Gear are the only survivors."
Gillian and metal are the only ones in the hovercraft...so it would make sense that "they" would survive...
2.How would Miranda know shes a snatcher...but thinks shes a human. Random didnt doubt he was a bioroid, he didnt know.
3.The church wouldnt have been destroyed if Gillian and metal never made it there...well unless the council decided to destroy all of NeoKobe.
4. Other than the unexplained expolsion, Jaime was being held by Modnar and wouldnt have been attacked by a snatcher.
5. And if she was killed by a snatcher, how did metal find out.
6.The game is called Snatcher, you cant completely change the main enemy and story of the game. The snatchers were used to cause frustration and panic, and to infiltrate our society and take over as our leaders.
7.The fact that gillian would fall in love with Miranda doesnt make any sense.
You need to rethink your story dude...

Why doesn't it make sense? P.s I meant the church where the shooting scenes in act 3 took place. Not the snatcher factory. Jamie was killed after Gillian left to destroy the snatcher factory.

im saying, "why would the church blow up?" Metal never went to the "meeting" to tell them to aim at the church.

What I want to know is why doesn't a romance between Gillian and Miranda make sense?

1. She's a Snatcher. I'm seen plenty of anime where a male lead falls for a non-human type of character, but I really don't seeing that working.
2. He was very much in love with Jamie. Do you think he'd just go "Oh, she's dead now... F' her! I'll fall for this girl now who just happens to be of the same creation that which killed my son and countless others." (which also goes back to reason 1). I don't think so.
That's why it doesn't work.

Miranda never snatched anyone. She was a pre-made bioriod who had no idea of her true nature until Gillian explained it to her. She had emotions built in. Gillian's love for Jamie was what got his relationship with Miranda started. She was there to support him after Jamie's death and understood what he was going through. (One of her fake memories was of a marriage and her husband being killed in a gunfight.) She basically kept Gillian from suicide. After Gillian had moved on it didn't take long for them to fall in love. Now does it make sense?

That doesn't make much sense, Random was also a bioroid and was just unaware of it, but he was still a Snatcher. This is not exactly the most original idea since it is basically lifted directly from Blade Runner. Even though Snatcher is heavily based upon BR, I feel this would parallel it much too greatly.

Do you mean the romance or the story in general?

The story in general. It's pretty cliched, bro.

its not even really a story. Your saying to go through the entire original story till you get to the kremlin....then to just stray off to something that doesnt have anything to do with...anything. If you wanna make a sequel then start at a different point.

ahhh sorry ive been miss understanding you with the whole snatcher factory...thing. I thought you meant the kremlin, my bad. But besides that whole part, the whole miranda/Jamie's death is still not right.

I can't believe you just asked me this. You do know you're about to recieve a long diatribe analyzing your story in all kinds of ways you never thought possible, don't you?
Alright, let's roll.
ratperson665 wrote:While on there way to destroy the snatcher factory the Junker’s hovercraft crashes in unknown territory.
Ohhh noooo, unknown territory... been there, done that.
ratperson665 wrote:Gillian and Metal Gear are the only survivors.
In any incident like this ever in most fiction the heroes are the only ones that survive. Always. This story, apparently, is no different. Granted, killing Gillian and Metal off would have been wierd, but you should do something different besides this crashing into unknown territory thing.
ratperson665 wrote:As Gillian and Metal Gear advance they come upon 3 people. Metal conforms the presences of snow-9. Do the "mysterious people" always have to be bad? And what is up with the chick being a good Snatcher all of a sudden? This whole part is confusing and not unlike every single other bad fanfic story on the internet. Besides, it just doesn't make sense that she thinks she's a human but knows she's a bioroid, unless she's like all those rich suburban kids that think they're hip and edgy because they listen to rap music.
ratperson665 wrote:Metal has some bad news. Jamie has been killed by a snatcher that survived the exploding church.
Ohhhh noooo againnnnnn... we kill off someone close to the protagonist. Yawn.
ratperson665 wrote:Soon Gillian, Miranda and Metal Gear discover a creature 10 times worse than the snatchers.
Is this a requirement for every single sequel in the history of the world? You may want to go into more detail with this too... it just sounds like you threw that in there to just to have a requiste amount of conflict.
ratperson665 wrote:They are our only hope against it.
ARE. YOU. SERIOUS? THE DRAMATIC TENSION IS SO THICK I CAN CUT IT WITH A KNIFE.
ratperson665 wrote:But the grip of this new evil does not prevent Gillian and Miranda from falling in love.
When used by someone who knows what they're doing, a romantic subplot can be a powerful part of the story. When thrown in there just because you can have it in there, though, it becomes exactly like every other sloppy romantic subplot in the history of entertainment.
Well, I hope I enlightened you in some way. Don't give up on writing. I hope you walk away from this post knowing what you did wrong and I hope you try to fix it, because that's what I'd do.
Also, I totally just went easy on you, man. If I wanted to, I could've found all kinds of stuff in your story that just doesn't work, but I really don't have time.

I don't think Snatcher needs a sequel, and even if there was one (in whatever form), when you actually got it and played it, I think you'd say to yourself, "It was good [maybe], but not as good as the original". A lot of the charm of the game has to do with Neo Kobe, discovering the Snatchers' origins, the banter between Gillian and Metal, etc., and most of these things probably wouldn't end up in the sequel. I don't think every good piece of fiction needs a sequel.
