Bionic Woman influence
Apparently, there was even an influence from The Bionic Woman. Jamie bears quite a bit of a resemblance to Lindsay Wagner. This was something I just noticed.

Is a PC-98 version translation still possible?
I am still hoping there will be one, but a lot of people have said it can't happen.

Anyone know what the job title I circled in yellow says in Japanese? I also circled in yellow Yoji Shinkawa's name. Thanks in advance.

Re: Regarding Scans from the SNATCHER booklet
I've been dying for some scans of the PC88/MSX/PC Engine manuals right about now.

It should have been pretty obvious to Snake (MGS1 spoilers)
That the DARPA Chief died before the events of the game. Snake's hallucination showcases this (the conversation between Liquid, Ocelot, and Psycho Mantis), and Liquid implies this twice when Snake first meets him in the Torture Room. During either of those two points, Snake SHOULD have put two and t...

Policenauts unreleased songs
The thread on a vinyl soundtrack had me thinking: What songs in the game were never released on any soundtrack albums, and what songs were added in home consoles? I know the song that plays when a new act starts was never released, and Still Walking , which is played everytime you pick up where you ...

Re: Policenauts soundtrack coming to vinyl
Unpopular opinion: I prefer Old L.A. 2040 over End of the Dark as the opening theme. A good chunk of cues you hear in the game use that distinct 11-note riff.

Re: New PC-9821 playthrough
I'm just gonna say this right now: Even though some of the character models were improved in the home consoles (i.e. Chris looks more feminine, Tony looks more intimidating), I think overall, the PC-98 looks the best. All about those sharp, gorgeous details. Lorraine actually looks her 50's in the o...
Six acts?
Kojima said that his original vision for Snatcher was six acts. How could he possibly tell this story in six acts? I think three acts was perfectly fine. I don't see how could have come up with enough material for six.

New PC-9821 playthrough
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLuEnjEtDaFD-mSTeid3ghXRa4OTBCDTfu This one is four months old. Here's a playthrough of the original PC-9821 version, which may be the most definitive one on YouTube. Why? It can go up to 1080p60, and best of all, it's on a real PC-9821 machine. 1994 Konami This...

Dragon Ball/Kojima Games connection
One thing I just found out, is that some of the voice actors who worked on Kojima Games in Japanese, also did the original Japanese dub of the Dragon Ball franchise. Mami Koyama: Voiced Lunch in Dragon Ball and Metal Gear Mk. 2 in Snatcher Hiromi Tsuru: Voiced Bulma in Dragon Ball and Naomi Hunter i...

Re: PC-88 vs. MSX Versions
The long times are incredibly long on the MSX version. The "Team Metalslave" logo is missing on the MSX version. Some, if not all of the sound effects are different. The sound effect on the MSX version, whenever a shocking discovery made, is extremely loud, it scared the fucking shit out of...

Re: Project Melancholia
I totally understand, even though I stand by my original opinion. What I wonder is what was the reason Kojima chose June 6, 1991 and December 2042, when he made the original game 25 years ago? Could he have known the future? As we all know, 1991 was the same year the Soviet Union fell. And I didn't ...

Re: Project Melancholia
I love that they are sticking with the original years (Prologue in 1991; Main Story in 2042), rather than have them five years ahead, like in the Sega CD version. I don't know why Marc and Artemio (No offense intended to them, BTW) used the Sega CD years for Sdatcher (which actually takes place in 2...

Re: Snatcher PC-88 Soundtrack missing tracks (some spoilers)
As I understand, it wasn't just time constraints as the reason the game had to be truncated. Apparently, there wasn't enough space for both the PC-88 and MSX2 versions to feature Act 3.

One of the early Snatcher albums featured a sketch of the original planned ending, in which Randam was supposed to live. Here it is.
Pay close attention to the sheet music. What could it have been used for? Anyone know the notes?

Okay, but what about the unused PC-88 tracks? Could they have been early versions of the "Katherine's Theme" track? Is one of them an unused version of the "Act Theme"?

Snatcher PC-88 Soundtrack missing tracks (some spoilers)
http://forums.ffshrine.org/f72/snatcher-bgm-compilation-fan-rare-129920/ Apologies if this has been done before. The new fan-assembled soundtrack has four previously unused tracks. What exactly could they have been used for? Also, the PC-Engine version did their own version of "For Harry",...

Official site question
I hadn't visited his official site in a few months, so a while back, I decided to do so. But when I did, I noticed that the entry for the Japanese mobile phone game Twelve Tender Killers has been deleted from the "Other Games" section in the Japanese version of his website. Why is that? Al...

Re: Snatcher PC8801
There were two things in Act 2 that took me almost forever to solve: The scene where you have to investigate your bathroom can only be triggered once you go through all of the possibilities at Altamira, and also after you go through all possibilities at Junker. When you see a light in your building ...

Re: Snatcher PC8801
cool, it works the same on a u.s. keyboard! the guides had it as (o ne tsu ta) which was wrong...it was (owatta) after all. and i notice the shift key makes the two marks on the "tsu" character go lower...what does that mean to the pronunciation? despite figuring out Napoleon's passwords....
