Re: Looking for MPO Text Dump
I kinda expect more exposition on the FOX unit members, or at least mention some of the stuff covered in the MGS4 Database:

Thanks! This one works perfectly now.
Is it a complete text dump or just portions of it?

Re: Let's Play SD Snatcher!
[ Are you sure? I've played the PSX version of Snatcher and I could swear they had the '96 Catastrophe. At any rate, the PSX version definitely has Junker founded in 2042: http://www.slowbeef.com/snatcher/psx/junker.png I'll double-check if I can get my copy working again. YouTube to the rescue. ht...

Re: Let's Play SD Snatcher!
Nitpick time on Chapter 2: This is another date issue. The events of early versions of Snatcher (with the 1991 Catastrophe) typically have Gillian join J.U.N.K.E.R. when it's relatively new, in December 2042. The latest versions of Snatcher with the '96 Catastrophe (PSX and Saturn versions) give a n...

Looking for MPO Text Dump
Does anyone know where I can get the full text dump of the radio conversations in MPO. I can only find the script of the main story.

I don't see much point of trying to update a fictional date in a story when its going to be dated in two or three years anyway.

Re: Overlapping Kojima games?
Yeah, that's who I meant. And not only that, but I've noticed some continuity errors in the localization, as well. For example, in the Sega CD version, Metal Gear mk. 2 tells Gillian that he and Jamie were frozen 1989, and that Gillian comes from a world that's been gone for 50 years. I think that ...

Re: Overlapping Kojima games?
Don't know if this would count or not but... The official Metal Gear timeline, now that it's coming to an end, spans 50 years (from 1964-2014). So did the timeline for Snatcher. The game started on June 6th, 1991, and ended during Christmastime 2042. And yes, I'm using the original intended timelin...

Re: Overlapping Kojima games?
I must point out that Mika's line of Benson Cunningham being the "Big Boss of JUNKER" in the Sega CD port of Snatcher wasn't an addition to the English localization. Its a literal translation of "oo bosu" from the Japanese original (its even in the PC-88 version). I don't think i...

It could be something like Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, which overlaps with the events of the original games.

There are a few mistakes in that timeline, but that isn't one of them. If you got the Meryl ending in MGS1, Ocelot states that Liquid was the superior one in the coda.snatcher1988 wrote:However, it was actually Liquid that had the recessive genes, while Solid had the dominant ones.

BTW, sorry to change the subject for now, Mr. Undaunted, but thanks for translating the name of that obscure Japanese mobile game that Kojima worked on called "Twelve Tender Killers", on his wkipedia profile. As much as I like his official site on konami.jp, I don't like how they don't me...

Re: Rumour: MGS1 coming to Xbox Live Arcade?
For that particular version, all they did was cut out the part where Ocelot said to press the circle button, etc. and the part where he said something about submitting. The keys were changed to pressing action key for life up, and select key for give up. There are other parts in the game where they...

Re: PlayItBogart's NES Metal Gear 1 review on revver
Great, now this thread has made me curious as to what Snake's Revenge was like. It looks like I'm gonna go try that one now. Its a decent game if you can tolerate the side-scrolling segments, crapass localization and a few cheap moments here and there. I still wouldn't take it over any of the real ...
